Where I stand...

Current Mood: frustrated Do You Care? Do I Care? "Join thousands in LA on March 18 to protest the war on Iraq on the 3rd Anniversary of the US Invasion" Thousands might be right, but frankly I've seen more people waiting to get into Disneyland. TK I went to the rally. I took photos . I thought the signs had snap and bite - "Lie-ability - Impeach Bush" TK I walked the parade route to see if there were throngs anywhere else, but sadly just tourists outside Graumann's Chinese getting the photos taken with Mr. Incredible, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Supergirl. Then I headed home. I didn't step up to carry a coffin in the parade. I didn't spend any money at the bumper sticker table. I didn't ... engage the activity. I passively observed, wrote down some notes, took some photos... and fled. I don't support our troops when they abuse local people they're supposed to be 'liberating'. I don't support a bunch of white, rich, hypocritical...

Mysteries of Life ...

- optional vs. required - monumental clash. Circa '08 Some if not most of you know that these past few months have been quite a challenge for Boo and I. Seems like just when we're standing tall, there's a trip and a fall, but then we get back up, brush ourselves off, take a few more steps ... wash, rinse & repeat. Words I put onto 'paper' from the loss of our pregnancy won't see the light of day anytime soon, and making it through October was and is always a cause for celebration. I'm not a whitewater kayaker, though I play one on a radio show... but it seems to me it's quite the challenge - trying to get to the end of the run, dealing with forces coming at you from every direction, missing submerged obstacles ... occasionally taking a dunking. The end of a dime-store mystery ... Turns out my memory was correct, and though a toast was proffered to my wonderful ma, the actual consumption of the small bottle of Jameson's hasn't quite happened y...

a sunny Sunday in the park with friends...

Olympic hockey on the TV (may I take a moment and say 'thanks Tivo' for making the men's 50K mass ski thing at least fun to watch in fast motion?) let's see how this upcoming week turns out - last week was a bit of a wash. certainly have enjoyed the excitement of curling, though. not sure what I'm trying to write tonight. I have hope that a personalized 'march madness' will make me head down the right path/trail/adventure, where I end up productive, enthused, and focused on all the good things in my life. my note from last night will confuse those who aren't me (or my shadows); fret not, it's important to understand that what you read in the picture was an important change in my life. just as things have changed for west(ern) Germany over the last 20 years, so now things have changed for me. just a whole lot subtler. kinda like the passing of the Selectric III, or the Wang terminal, or phones with buttons on the handset (just how to they roll STU III...
